1. SVG Color Processing Rules
- Pure Red (
#ff0000): Set to Cut (through sheet material). Thin 0.1 mm stroke.
- Grey (
#808080): Set to Engrave (surface score / fill etch). All text and state boundaries are exported as closed vector polygons so no font installation is needed.
2. Alignment in XCS (Whitespace Handling)
If XCS trims outer transparent margins upon import, each SVG might center differently on the canvas. To align the layers with micron precision:
- All three SVGs share an identical physical coordinate space and viewBox.
- Check the Layer Cut Bounding Boxes in the Design Notes below to match the exact (X, Y) coordinates and dimensions.
3. Assembly Order
- Layer 1 (Backing): Cut from dark acrylic or stained board. Engrave the title, inscription, and placement outline.
- Layer 2 (Landmass): Cut mainland and islands from natural timber. Secondary streets, state borders, city markers, labels, and road glue guides are engraved on the face.
- Layer 3 (Raised Roads): Cut road strips from cream/ivory acrylic or light wood.
- Assembly: Glue Layer 2 onto Layer 1 following the backing guides. Then glue Layer 3 road segments onto Layer 2 following the road guide paths.
